  • Properties as a % of Florence – 15%

  • Finances - assets and liabilities of the town of Florence is transferred based upon the assessed valuation of all the taxable property through a discussion between the two Town’s boards.

  • Spread Eagle Govt. -  A town board will be established if voted upon at the first meeting of the new town. We anticipate a three person board.

  • Fire Protection - The Town of Spread Eagle voters will decide if they would like a fire station located within the Town and in the vicinity of our properties.

    • What are the benefits to having a fire station in Spread Eagle? - A FEMA study found that response times under 7 minutes were linked to fires contained to the room of origin, while times over 9 minutes correlated with fires spreading beyond the building, with the risk of "total loss" escalating exponentially after 11 minutes. An anecdotal event of a recent fire on Montgomery Lake road disclosed that the response time from Florence was 20 minutes. Also, Brett Whaley of LaChapelle Insurance, informed the board that as of 12/9/24, insurance premiums would be 10 - 30% less if the home was located within 5 miles of a fire station.

  • Representation - Only registered voters can vote but all property owners will have equal representation through their board and their voices.

  • Town Services – In the beginning, all services are planned to be subcontracted to Florence, providing they are provided at a fair market value. We have options for all services.

  • Partnership – The new Town of Spread Eagle anticipates a very synergistic relationship with the Town of Florence and Florence County.

  • EMS, Sheriff, etc. – All provided by Florence County.

  • Budget - Our initial detailed, estimated budget shows a surplus of $204,000.

    • What credentials does your team have to determine the feasibility of the township of Spread Eagle? The group's credentials include 100+ years of experience at the top levels of corporate management in Engineering, IT, Finance, and General Management, including two Vice Presidents of corporations and/or banks. Hundreds of hours have been expended to thoroughly understand Wisconsin statues and to apply them. In addition, the group hired a top legal firm out of Madison, WI to review and guide the process. The firm has hired a 30+ year veteran of the Wisconsin Department of Revenue.

  • Timeline – We will be gathering signatures from 4/22/26 – 12/01/26 and the town will then conduct a referendum vote on 4/20/27.
